Richard Court Treatt, an essential oil merchant in the City of London, founded the company in 1886. Treatt specialises in supplying raw materials to flavour and fragrance compounders, and food, beverage, soap, perfumery, cosmetic and pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Treatt exports to over 90 countries worldwide. In addition to its own sales staff, Treatt employs a network of agents to service even the remotest parts of the world.

Treatt's extensive stockholding of flavour and fragrance raw materials enables customers to buy large and small quantities at short notice. To satisfy their exacting requirements, we pride ourselves on being able to source rare and exotic essential oils, natural specialties, aroma chemicals and many other products from all over the world. These make up our unique range of flavour and fragrance ingredients.

Treatt's buyers work directly with growers and producers of essential oils to ensure that only the finest quality raw materials are obtained and that the highest standards of production are maintained.

Treatt upholds a strict quality control policy and is supported by experienced technical staff with a broad range of analytical equipment.

Treatt consists of two subsidiaries – R.C Treatt and Treatt USA. R C Treatt is the group's main operating company and conducts business outside the North American continent. The group's other subsidiary, Treatt USA, based in Lakeland, Florida, handles business within North America.

R .C Treatt is a leader in the essential oil market, with a large dedicated essential oil distillation facility as well as comprehensive research laboratories. The company holds extensive stocks of a wide range of essential oils for use in both flavours and fragrances. R C Treatt sells its products throughout the world via a network of agents.

As well as offering the full range of natural products to the flavour and fragrance industries, R C Treatt supplies a wide selection of aroma chemicals. Treatt represents Endeavour Speciality Chemicals exclusively on a worldwide basis. Endeavour specialises in the small-scale manufacture of fine chemicals for the flavour and fragrance industries. These are commonly referred to as 'high impact specialty aroma chemicals', which include nitrogen and sulphur chemicals. R C Treatt also offers nearly 2,000 aroma chemicals, including some on behalf of leading global manufacturers.
